Dear ABAS Members and Friends,
This edition of Nota Bene is jam-packed with exciting stories and memorable photos! ABAS has been busy the last few months. Our sold-out Annual Dinner on October 2 was a huge success. Thank you all so much for your tremendous support! ABAS joined our friends at the Florin JACL for the annual pilgrimage to Manzanar, which was particularly meaningful this year as it was the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066. Congratulations to the ABAS Law Foundation for the premiere showing of the film, “And Then They Came for Us,” which attracted almost 800 attendees! ABAS also sponsored the “Noodle Bowl,” a trivia game hosted by API Rise, an organization whose goal is to enhance the philanthropic giving to the API community in the Sacramento region (ABAS came in second place!). ABAS was also a proud sponsor of the Bench Bar Reception and the Florin JACL 82th Anniversary Luncheon.
The year is nearly over, but the events are not! Mark your calendars for November 15 to attend the attorney-to-attorney mentorship luncheon featuring ABAS past-president Kathryn Doi speaking on the topic of mid-career changes. Look out for an invitation to the Holiday and Member Appreciation Party on December 13. Join the ABAS Legal Eagles for the My Sister’s House Run on November 4. And, ABAS will be attending the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Conference in Washington D.C and will report back after.
It is amazing to see what ABAS has accomplished in the past 10 months, which could not have happened without you. Thank you so much for joining ABAS on its 2017 journey so far.
